Join us for a unique webinar with Deran Young, founder of Black Therapists Rock, to explore intersecting systems of oppression (such as race, sexual orientation, economic class, age, disability, and gender/gender expression), and how they show up in your therapy sessions.

When you understand the various and overlapping ways in which individuals, groups, and communities are privileged and marginalized, you can support the complexity of the person sitting in front of you in a much deeper way.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How systems of power might influence your clients’ help-seeking behaviors (or lack thereof) and how to help them help themselves
  • How identities are shaped by oppression and privilege so you can clearly see the multiple stressors clients may be dealing with
  • How systems of power might determine your clients’ access to resources in ways you didn’t realize
  • How to apply intersectional compassion in the therapeutic setting
  • Strategies you can use immediately in your practice to become the supportive, compassionate and respectful helping professional described in your code of ethics
